The gas kitchen stove was invented in the 1820’s. These units was large and very difficult to work with. In the 1880’s, the natural gas stove gained popularity due to the cities and gas companies designing a network of gas line pipes to deliver the gas to every home and business.
Propane gas was delivered to the people out side the cities with the development of the propane tank to store the gas on the property of the consumer. So a propane gas stove was developed as well. The antique gas stove was designed with several different options and a variety of cooking burners and ovens to choose from. The gas stove top was designed with several different gas stove parts. One important part is the gas stove burner.
A gas heating stove is also a gas fireplace. There are several different venting systems for the gas fireplace. The vent free gas stove is one of the most popular. The gas stove direct vent does not use the chimney of the regular wood burning fireplace. The gas stove vent is used for the direct vent. This vent is a coaxial pipe. Like a smaller pipe in a pipe. The outer pipe brings in the fresh air. The inner pipe will expel the air that has been used in the combustion process. The warmer air being removed also helps to heat the cooler, fresh air being brought into the fireplace. This process does not use or release any of the air used in the combustion process back into the room.
The different mantels that go around the gas logs are manufactured out of several different materials. With the cast iron gas stove being one of the favorites. The gas stoves are great to take on camping trips. The portable gas stove can also be used if the electricity is out or if there is a power shortage. Although some people call it a gas wood stove there is no such thing. There is no cross or half and half, it is one or the other.
